When I was in elementary school, I had a young friend whose father taught the arts. She had everything she needed to tinker, paint, collage. We spent hours creating. I think I was born to create. I start drawing very early, as well as watercolour classes at age 11. At 15 years I decide to follow the classes of fine arts: drawing, studies of tones, oil painting, classes of great masters. In high school, I took photography courses. I want to have more mastery of techniques to be more free to realize what’s in my head.
I work to develop my own language through the visual arts, my personal touch, my interpretation of the subjects that attract me. First the portraits, then the period of flowers; it is during this period that I learn to work with spatulas and other tools.
I love music, and the hustle and bustle of cities, architecture, and my natural body language moves me more towards the line, the gestures horizontally and vertically, I tend towards the city. I work a lot on the interpretation of cities, and through them I look for a rendering that wants free, more grubbing, more impressionist. I always work on that, but I give myself the freedom to touch other subjects, such as boats at sea, the fantastic scenes that I really want to develop, and the landscapes.
I like strong contrasts, and most of all, I like the picture to have an atmosphere. Whether it’s the vibe of the city, its calm of the morning, its night life, or the quiet beauty of the seaside, of the boats, or even all the splendour of the fantasy worlds, imaginary, inspired by video games. I like to go somewhere else and make people travel.
